PNS Home Gro Kit

So just diving into the world of PNS dosing and looking into the home gro kit if it seems to have a benefit in my tank. My question is, after you've used the home grow kit, is there a refill package available? I cannot find it anywhere if there is. Doesnt seem worth it to rebuy the entire kit when you just need the growth powder and the inoculum bottle. The plastic jug I would assume once sterilized would all be reusable no?

I looked into this and almost certain you need to buy the whole kit. Pretty sure you wouldn't save much not buying the jug and the few extra dollars on buying a new jug would be worth it in my opinion for peace of mind from a sterilization point of view.

We do not sell individual packs of our growth medium. There are several reasons for this. Firstly, the medium is by far the most expensive component of the kit the produce (especially after labor). Therefore, the medium would, by itself, cost almost as much as a complete kit.

Another important reason for this is safety. The polyethylene cube (culture vessel) gets weaker every time it’s subjected to heating; we simply don’t want one to fall apart and scald someone.

Moreover, the pigments stain the cube, which alters illumination in subsequent runs. And afboundguy makes a great point by mentioning how difficult these can be to sterilize due to the stubborn biofilms (heavy bleach would pretty reliably kill that stuff, but also degrades the vessel, so Catch-22 there).

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, PNS HomeGro is designed to cultivate a polyculture of three PNSB species (each species is grown separately in our production facility and added to the inoculum at the time of bottling); a fresh inoculum must be used each time to ensure that all three develop properly.
