So I ventured off and decided to do a frag tank. Mainly to supply my local Colorado community with Nice aquacultured corals and to help pay a little bit for the hobby. I went with a Luna reef 48X24x15. I used a sump I had laying around and built a custom wood stand. Plumbing was a little tricky, but it turned out. It's currently cycling with 5 fish. 1 mp 40, I 4k ice cap gyres. 3 radions
I went with 5 custom racks from PNW. They custom engraved my Instagram (Rocky_Mountain_Reefer). I must say the racks I like. I really like the frag holder material that is in each frag hole. Helps with securing frags from moving around in the flow. The orange acrylic adds a nice touch as they glow under the blue leds. The legs lift the racks off the bottom of the tank and allow space for fish to swim and hide.
My one complaint with PNW. BUILD THE LEGS STRONGER... They custom built these to my specs and shipped it out quick. It was nicely boxed up and secured with bubble wrap, but I noticed while unboxing one of the legs came off a rack. another was almost coming off too. These legs are very flimsy and seem like a little bit of pressure would break them right off. PNW builds a nice rack and it's a good design, but get your stand legs attached to the racks better. Maybe do slot that the legs can slide into or something. Other than that everything looks good.
Lmk what you guys think or any suggestions I should do with this tank. The goal was torches euphyllia, and alot of sps
