And if I’m using food grade trisodium phosphate which of the phosphates do I select?

I believe that i saw a post awhile back where Randy had mentioned that the % difference is so minute that it’s insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I use the calculator with sodium phosphate dibasic and it’s a good starting point. It’s not exact, so start lower and work your way up slowly.

edit. I guess I should add that I base that off making a solution to increase phosphate at 1ml to 0.01ppm.

Select phosphate using potassium phosphate. I forget the % conversion though. I wanna say use 30% more tsp, but let's get a pro. @taricha can you help?
OK, that’s the one I figured. Didn’t realize the uptick was required though. Will see if taricha chimes in. Thanks.

Strange, I don’t see sodium phosphate dibasic listed.

Peeeerfect. Loudwolf tsp solution: 2tsp/1gal
5ml of solution will raise phosphate by .01

That’s the exact TSP I ordered. If I put it into the calculator though the math doesn’t jive. It says I would need 10 tsp/gal to get 0.1 increase.

Ah I see what I did wrong. I didn’t change the 1ml to 5 ml in the calc where it asks for how much solution to add.
And this implies no uptick. You mentioned something earlier about a 30 % uptick. Is this still the case?
How often should this be added to the tank?

It's gotta be +30% tsp compared to potassium phosphate. If you change the 5 to a 50 you will see the extra from the conversion. Glad you had a 250, as my calculations are for a 125. How much you add will depend on your systems. My 125 gets .16 worth a day, 300 gets .18 worth.

It’s not. I meant to follow the potassium phosphate calculator. I believe the difference is miniscule. I used it as a starting point as I use sodium phosphate dibasic with that calculator.
