For the past week I have noticed my zoas closing and opening far more often than normal. Last night I found some pod critters crawling on the rastas. I can actually watch the zoas close when the bugs move. So far I haven't seen any damage done, however today half of them have remained closed and the others won't open all the way.
Will the rastas become used to the pods? (that is if the pods aren't actually causing harm).
What kind of pod eating fish would you recommend for a 40 gallon tank?
Anything else I can do? Thank you.
Below are 2 pictures I took a few seconds apart. You can see 2 pods on the zoa stalk. Just after the first picture the right pod moved up and the zoa closed.
Tomorrow I receive my shoulder gloves and will catch 1 to put under microscope for a better picture.
Also would like to note the same appears to be happening to my rainbow monti. It had pods on it and half of the polyps wouldn't open. I moved it which solved the issue for a week, then the pods found it again.
