Poll: Pumps off when feeding?

Some people like to leave their pumps ON when feeding to distribute the food to all the inhabitants of the tank including corals. Others turn the pumps off so that most of the food is for sure to be eaten.

We always tell our customers to leave them on.
More often than you think people turn them OFF to feed and forget to turn them ON again.

My return pumps turn off and 2 minutes and my 2x MP40's go into feeding mode, which I think is 20% in nutrient export. I've been doing this for a while now, but it seems to be causing a lot of wear and tear on my return pump. I'm interested to know what everyone else does!

I leave all the pumps running and squirt food in with a turkey baster. The fish get a workout chasing everything all over the tank.

I don't turn off any pumps but I do turn off the skimmer during feeding specially when feed the coral.

My autofeed is set up to run with pumps on. I do turn them off when feeding specific corals and anemones to avoid the food blowing away. I have an apex system, so I don't have to worry about turning them back on. They will turn on if I forget.

Sometimes I like watching the roe or brine suspended in the water column for a minute or two. Then turn them on. :)

I voted yes. Just depends on if i'm feeding fish or coral. And/or if I'm feeding dry flakes or pellets.

I turn of the wavemakers only or the fish really have to swim for their supper

I turn my off my wave makers and pump to feed. Once I'm done feeding everything I turn on my wave makers a let them run for a bit then my pump to remove excess.

I leave my pumps on and when I feed my fish they swim towards me and the foods. No reason in my opinion to turn them off.

I leave them on so the food gets scattered better. That way all my fish have a chance at some food flashing by. Otherwise, my dominant eaters will bogart the food.

I turn two of the three MP10's off and return off with my standby mode on the RKE for 15 minutes. This gives everyone time get to the food.

RW 8's are put into feed mode. The return pump stays on to distribute the food through out the tank. After 10 minutes when the PH's turn back on whatever the CUC doesn't eat gets blown into the water column for a second feeding. When I feed flakes in the morning everything stays on.

I voted sometimes, because the only time I shut my pumps off is when I feed my Dendros.

I make my fish work for their food. My frozen food is thawed in the IM gourmet feeder and then sucked down by 1 of my mp40's then blown around the tank. Food rarely makes it to the overflow.

I feed frozen 3 times a day and its a pain for me to even go press a button on my apex display, so i bought that innovated marine defroster to just throw the cut up cubes in

I turn off the Gyre but leave the main pump/2 returns on.

Sounds crazy but prob the best lazyest investment ive ever made, none goes into overflow as my gyre on the other side scoops it all up
