Thoughts for running in a media cup? Trying to get away from socks lol. Really just curious on personal experience and safety

Okay awesome thanks!Yup, must be 100% polyester, no additives like “flame retardant” or mold inhibitors.
Luckily I already have a 7” media cup!Yeah, it works fine. There's a few products that can be used for this. Check out the Nosok, it's a frame to stick filter floss in or I think there's some 3d printed options out there.
Hell yeahThat's the exact same one that I use. One bag will probably last me 10 years in my little 20g.
The reason I mentioned the Nosok is that when you put some filter floss in a cup, the water is gonna clog the very top of the filter floss first, and then restrict flow to the floss beneath it. The Nosok spreads out the filter floss so it can all get used up efficiently. The cup will work just fine, but there's more efficient options out there.Luckily I already have a 7” media cup!
I do like the mesh socks much more then the felt socks. I ran mesh in my 24g and they are soooo much easier to cleanAfter many years of floss, felt sock, roller filters, I now use 400 micron mesh socks in my sump systems. Change them every few weeks
Simple to clean. They are worth a shot.
