pom pom dead on the bottom

so i just came to a dead pom pom crab, the arms/leg were hanging off of him. pet list. skunk shrimp, 2 clowns, 2 cardinals, 3 chromis, 1 star fish,1 cleaner goby.

I would t give up hope. Your description sounds a lot like a molt to me.

Give it a few days and I put my money on you seeing it again, once its new shell hardens

you all are crazy right, i just saw him under a rock. dang this hobby is tricky. haha crazy. That happen to me on my shrimp

the molts really do look just like the original :) congrats on having a newly skinned crab lol

Congrats. I've learned when you see a "dead" crab to wait a while and see if you see its twin

yes, they molt when they grow

another way to tell is if it was still holding its nems. if there are ever nems in the shells hands, its him. if not. its his molt. its funny cuz this reef tank business can leave you with alot of ghostly remains, just dont wake your girl up telling her you lost a shrimp/crab until you know for sure LOL!! I woke up this am to half my coral banded shrimp.. or so i thought. Hes still fine hiding under a rock
