Poor looking hammer coral

Hi,

What could be the problem for this hammer, why is it looking this bad?
I recently moved it from the top to the bottom of the tank. It was pretty close to the powerhead, I thought it was possibly getting too much flow. Did not change anything, still looking bad.
I feed it phytoplankton once a week.
Water parameters have been tested,
Salinity :1.024
Calcium: 400
ammonia, nitrate: 0

Kh? Mag? Ph? Lighting? flow?

Many things can be the cause.

Magnesium- I don't have a tester for it but I have been adding it weekly
Lighting: Fluval marine led + 2*54w ho blue fluorescent
flow:951 gph+ 2 hydor koralia heads

Get a salifert test for the magnesium. Besides that, parameters seem acceptable. Any swings recently? How old is your tank?

I haven't had any swings as far as I know, the tank is about a year old.

I’d give it a dip and then see how it goes from there.

Number one thing you should do is dip the coral. And feed it some meaty food, like mysis.

Why add mag if you dont test for it? Sounds like receipe for badness

I don't see tissue recession and you may have answered your own question: too much light and flow at top of tank possibly. How is it doing now that it has been relocated for a few days?
