Possible filtration problems

Not sure what forum to place this in. I’ve been fighting Dino’s in my 125. My nitrates I can’t get below 75 ammonia is 0 phosphates are .7. I’ve been doing 30g water changes weekly to no avail. Would a lack of live rock and an under sized skimmer contribute to me not being able to control nitrates. Tank isn’t over stocked there’s 9 fish the biggest being a coral beauty. I only have 45lbs of rock. The rock was transferred from my red sea250 to hat was 1 year old.

I don’t think so I only use frozen and I squirt it in the tank as the fish eat it. It’s only one cube and some go to my lps

What is your confidence level that the pest is dinos and not cyano or something else?

Not good I’m not sure if it’s really brown or red lt is stringy on everything. It will blow right off the rocks and if I vacuum the sand it’s back the next day. At this point I’m just squirting it off the corals to keep them alive. I have an icecap 4K gyre on each end of the tank at 80% so plenty of flow anymore and the corals ain’t happy

Sounds more like cyano if it blows off easily.

Different way to deal with it.

If it is cyano, measures include reducing organics (skimming, GAC, Purigen, etc) , increasing flow, perhaps organisms that eat it, and worst case, antibiotic treatments.
