Possibly a silly question..

Ok so I got a dual reactor for carbon and gfo. Instead of pulling out the pump every time to filter fresh RO threw it to get all the black dust n such pushed threw can I just leave it in the sump and run it threw a filter sock for a few minutes to catch the crap?

I just use water change water to clean the carbon a bit before putting it in. It's not too big of a deal, filter sock sounds like a good idea

Just a temporary sock I'm not running any socks on my system but I could have one or two just for this method.
