I have just purchased the Apple Aperture program for post-processing and manipulation of images taken with a Canon 60 D camera. I'm still very new to this daunting new world of photography, and I was wondering if Aperture would suffice for all the necessary post-processing of RAW images. I'd rather not have to buy Adobe Photoshop as well, unless it's absolutely necessary. Does anybody out there have any experience with Aperture?

I use it, love it.

You do not need anything else.

I have barely scratched the surface as to what this program will do. Brett uses CS4 and has all these cool shortcuts that he programmed for one button resizing. I need to do this in aperture and I will be a happy man.

Thanks! That's exactly what I needed to know.

I can see that Aperture has quite a few customizable macro or "shortcut" options, but that's still way too advanced for me at this point. I'm still wrestling with getting a good white balance result on the RAW image processing

I believe Aperture is only for Mac computers or Apple based equipment, such as IPads.

I've started to switch back over to Adobe Lightroom...Aperture is slow as balls on my i7 macbook pro with 4gigs of memory which is unacceptable.
