Hey everyone... unfortunately we are dealing with velvet. Yup trying to tackle and hoping for survivors. We are following a treatment plan from our very well known LFS. We have a 200gallon aquarium that is built into the wall, so removing it and getting a new tank is not an option. I wanted to see and get advice on post treatment. After treatment, depending on who survives, what should we do? Will we ever be able to introduce new fish? I do not think I could remove the rock work very easily either...

Need to know the treatment plan to give post treatment advice. It sounds like you aren't pulling the fish and treating in copper and fallowing display?

You need to remove the fish and medically treat with copper in QT assuming you are sure it's velvet. The primary tank needs to fallow 45 days minimum.

Yes that is correct we are treating the display tank. Adding in copper. Keeping the lights off. They advise for at least 2 weeks

Copper binds to calcium carbonate in rocks so you will need to test copper level frequently to make sure it doesn't drop below therapeutic level.
