I feel like I see alot of pictures of new tanks but would love to see some tanks that have been up for 3 or more years! Nothing like seeing multiple corals all full and lush and happy fishes that have grown with your tank!

As someone who just got a tank and only has been in the hobby for a year I would love to see some inspo!

About 5 years or so. I switched this one to be a "display" LPS farming tank. So every time it looks nice and full, it gets trimmed again.

Welp, added a regal angelfish and that changed a lot on how my system looks.
Chopped this beauty up over 25 heads into 5 mini colonies.

How long have you had the ribbon? I've always wanted to keep one but haven't heard many with good luck.

That Hammer is amazing!!! Did it start from a frag? Did the Angelfish eat the corals or did you just remove them? I want an Emperor angel but it wont happen with this tank because i love my corals! Though i have seen people have luck with them!

3 years in March. Be careful what you wish for. Growth is good until it isn’t and you have to trim stuff constantly to keep them from killing one another.

Absolutely stunning!!!! Did you start mostly with frags or did you invest in some colonies too? Recently i have started to purchase more established corals to fill out some spaces.

Do you have any corals that you liked more than you thought you would? I have a fox coral that i love and don't see alot of people talk about them!

she was munching on my green trachy. So, trading with a friend for frags she wont munch on. Acans and trachyphyillias are completely not safe with angelfish. I knew that was going to happen.

The hammer started out with 5 heads. Grew very large over a couple of years, I decided to break up some branches and give to friends who wanted them.

Careful what you wish for...

Mature and established doesn't always mean good!

That was my tank at 3 years old.

Age is no guarantee of excellence.

It doesn't look that bad anymore, thankfully - but it took the better part of two years to get it from that to this:

Still not great, and it's gotten better since then... but yeah. If you fall behind on your maintenance, your tank's age won't save you.

Thank you. Other than those corals that you can’t buy as frags such as torches everything else started out as frags. These days colonies are so expensive and uncommon that frags are really the only way to go.
Love chalices, easy and great colors. Only issue is they are generally encrusters so it becomes a pain to try and contain them.
