I've been having issues trying to keep any coral, LPS to SPS, so I did an ICP. Potassium came back at 276. I don't have a hobby kit to test it against so I plan to grab one next time I go to my LFS. I'm preparing some large water changes to get it back on track.

Reef labs has this as their notes under potassium "poor coloration, nutrient control problems".

What impact does low potassium have, if any?
Could low potassium cause STN/RTN?
How does potassium relate to nutrient control?

If that value is accurate it is quite low and I’d raise it to 400 ppm. Potassium is important for many cellular functions.

Thanks Randy. Ill have to do some research to understand better.

What general effects would low potassium have? Could it be the cause of the stn/rtn ive had

I don’t know the exact effects most folks would first see, and I would not assume it’s the same in all tanks.
