Powder blue tang qt question?

I just got a powder blue tang. I had the pick of 3 got the best eating best looking one. PBT is in a 55gallon QT. Got it home and 2 days later spots. I’m now running my 4th treatment of ich-x as the instruction. Since it’s been less then a week should I wait a full 6 week from now before I introduce him. Should I just observe him of do any more treatments in that time?

You should treat him with copper or CP.

Looks like Ich x is formalin and malachite green.

I'm not sure that is the best treatment for sw ich.

Honestly you need to put him through a treatment of copper, I prefer copper power at 1.75ppm. That will eradicate ich and or velvet and you won’t have it come back up.

Tangs are typically very tolerant of cheleted copper and I recommend a Hanna checker to keep it at 1.75ppm. The very minimum therapeutic level is 1.50ppm, as long as you stay above that. You’re good.
