Powder blue tang

I have over 130 gallons and my LFS owner refused to sell me one. He has two at his store for sale. Even in the massive frag tanks he has they are still the most aggressive fish in there. We are talking about several 100’s of gallons. They beat the crap out of everything...from a foxface twice the size of the powder, even the huge sailfin he has. The one he has in a smaller tank paces like mentioned above. His main issue with me getting one was the amount of tangs I have already, though. I assume a lot of it would depend on how your tank was laid out (provide lots of swim ways, runs, etc) and what else you stock.

Looking for experiences not someone that probs has 0 experience with tangs and got his info offline don't mean to sound harsh but not really a helpful comment
In other words not the answer you wanted to hear.

Sounds like you're actually wanting someone to tell you what you want to hear, not the truth.

Well buddy you just contradicted you're self as yellow tangs require 100 gallon tank and that myfriend is a 90 gallon 4ft tank

Also that's a yellow not a powder blue so why are you even commenting on this thread the only useful post on this thread was from nereefpat rest of you trying to get postcount up or something?

@Jekyl was only relaying a simple fact. And it was useful information. Even my tangs will outgrow my tank. I have been extremely lucky to not have any aggression. Powder blues are more territorial than other tangs, too.

Having a smaller tank is asking for issues that wouldn’t occur in a large setup. I don’t have any experience with powder blues, personally. I am relaying information I have acquired from someone with experience and my own observations of the fish in his store, as well as info I learned online. Jekyl was likely doing the same thing...

And going by his logic he should have a 100 gallon 5ft tank for his yellow tang but he has a 90gallon 4ft tank but hey its working for him hence why i was asking for experiences not info that i can read myself online

BTW I gave the PBT to my buddy who had a 1000g tank and even in that tank he was still very aggressive for a while. Up until my buddy added a large Atlantic blue tang LOL

I wouldn't even attempt another PBT unless I had at least 300g at this point.
