Powder brown tang flukes?

Hi everyone?

I have my powder brown tang in qt for around 3 weeks now with copper at 2.0 and I have done 2 doses of general cure 7 days apart. At an angle the eye looks a bit cloudy right or is it just me?

I must ask why you are running your Copper Level at 2.0? That's not sufficient to eliminate Ich. I cannot really see a problem with your Powder. The Pics are simply too grainy to get a good idea if there is a problem?

This looks to be ich and bring
Coppersafe level to 2.35pom for 30 days and leave display tank with no fish for 45-60 days

There are two different types of "eye flukes" - an external type that causes a general cloudiness to both eyes, and then an internal digenean fluke that causes an internal focused spot of white. General Cure only treats the first one. From what I can see, there is a singular dot on the eye. That is either an injury, the internal digenean fluke or perhaps even a cataract. The internal digenean requires a secondary host to spread, and that won't be found in your tank. Cataracts can be caused by age or chemical contaminants in the water (but usually affect both eyes). I don't think that this eye issue is anything to really worry about (or at least it isn't treatable).

I do agree that amine-chelated copper products, (coppersafe or copper power) must be dosed at 2.25 to 2.5 ppm for 30 days. The "14 days" copper treatment only works with ionic copper, but those products are more stressful to the fish. Then, back in the day when I used those products, I always dosed for 21 days. Cutting the time short by moving the fish to a fresh tank can work, but is more risky.
