Power going out from 8am to 3pm

So my city is doing maintenance on my street and the power is going to be out from 8am-3pm. Anyone have suggestions on what to do ? I was planning on buying a battery powered air stone

I have a generator for just in case emergencies.

Rent a generator for a day if you could. Or borrow one from someone. Won’t take much to run the tank and your freezer/fridge.

Will you be home during that time? The most important things are oxygenation, flow and temp. The air stone is a good idea. If you will be there, you can manually "stir" the tank periodically to ensure the oxygenated water is getting everywhere. Seven hours isn't too long. I wouldn't think your temp would rise too much in that time. But if it does, you can float a little zippy bag of ice to keep it down. Of course, a generator is the best solution. You can never be sure the power will come on when it's supposed to.

Walmart sells the live well aerator and stone, grab the battery out of your lawn mower you'll be fine.

I was going to say keep the room dark or cover the tank to reduce stress on fish but remembered you won’t have power. Lol. Air stone should be all you need.

A battery powered air pump and some ice will probably get you through. Just fill up a cooler so you dont have to open the freezer.

Also, a little trick I learned... Get a clear container and fill it halfway with water and freeze it. Then put a coin on top of the ice and fill the rest of the way up and freeze. If the coin sinks (after a power outage) you know your freezer got too warm and you might want to throw some stuff away.

I went 2 days no power after hurricane in Fl. I had a 55. I stirred like aquanut said. No problems. After that I did by a few battery operated air pumps. They are cheap and more them enough for a 20. Just need 2d battery’s and good.
