I am trying to figure out what the best size power head would be for my new 30x30x24 93 gallon cube. The tank will be mostly sps and a few lps coral. I have been considering one or two mp 40's but these might be to big. I have also been looking at the jebao wavemakers. I know they are cheap but it was just another option. Thanks for your help.

MP40s aren’t too big. I ran 2 of them on my 29 gallon standard and now they are going on my 40 breeder.

I’ve always been a fan of two powerheads in any tank as to get an either sync for chaotic flow or anti sync to get a back and forth movement.

How about a gyre? One that's around 3000gph will be plenty, imo. I switched my mp40s for a few tunze nanostreams to one Ice Cap 3k gyre(40gal breeder). The gyre seems pretty good so far. I'd get a gyre or 2 mp10s.

Edit:
2 mp40s. Autocorrect changed it on me.

Is the gyre quiet. I do like the flow that it has.

AquaMedic EcoDrift are in between Tunze/EcoTech and Jeabo in both price and performance. They are what I recommend to folks who want better than Chinese patent-stealing garbage and not being able to spend a fortune on Tunze.

If you can afford Tunze, I would do it... I still have pumps running from more than a decade ago.
