Glad to help. I wouldn't stress too much over getting the temperate above 70 using this method. And not unless you have a thermometer that doesn't require power - always a good idea to have one of the floating glass ones in a drawer somewhere for situations just like this.

Sounds like ur doing all the right things.
An air sponge filter would be the only thing I might add, but the sponge would have to have been "seasoned" already... I might put the airstone next to as much established rock as possible if you have it, move the rock around, make a chimney this can help with filtration as well. Good luck :)

All great advice. Currently doing the same thing in durham. PS looks like you're right down the road from me I'm in north durham. I have a ~20inch toadstool coral that drops babies all the time. If after storm outage you want one of the heads a "sorry things were so stressful" gift send me a pm

Hey! Yes this power outage sucks. I am new to the hobby and I am just stressed about the tank. I would love to possibly get a coral form you some time. Can you start private chats on this?

Take the stone off the tube so you get bigger bubbles. Gas exchange does occur in the rising bubbles it comes from surface agitation. The more violent the agitation at the surface the greater the gas exchange and that agitation will be greater with large bubbles.

Glad to hear everything is fine.
Check out this battery backup with solar panel. I'm probably going to buy one:

I actually just order my self a generator early today. You should definitely get one for yourself. I think it will save us many times and it sure will get use.

You can easily get a battery operated air pump on Amazon for $20 or less. Life saver during power outages. Having a big generator for rest of house is great too.
