Hey guys I grow up in sterling heights. Now im in nashville tn for the past 10yrs. Here this feb and marchi lost power 4 times with one time was 36hrs.so i feel for you guys. I did have a generator but did have eough ppwer to run everything on my tank just a heater and return pump. So the pump to my ecobak wasn't running. Long story short when the power came back on I was at work. When I got home the water was cloudy and lost most of all my frags. If your runing any type bio pellets I would take them off line and washout with ro/di. Hope this helps

You guys getting bad storm or what?

Generators are the way to go, but if they are out of your budget you should at least get a battery powered aeration kit. In fact last winter we lost power and then the generator wouldn't start so I threw in battery powered aeration and all was saved. The best part about them is the price about $5.00 plus you'll need 2 D batteries. DFS has them instock Battery Air Pump 3 pk, CD-21380 $13.39

Generators are the only way to go .. i have one on my house if the power goes out it has a 2 min delay then it will start up .. if and when the power is restored it will delay to turn off for 5 mins and im back to using FPL .. being in florida we lose power alot due to storms .. hurricanes are the hardest .. last time i lost power for 5 days after a hurricane ... i had a small Generator then but after that and not having ac and firing the grill up every day just to fry a egg i went out and got one that will control my whole house .. cost was a lil high but well worth it .. last time the power went out here i was down 3 days everyone around me wanted a jump off of it .. i give them a LP jug send them to walmart to pick up a new one and they can have power up to 2 days .. but i can go 4 days on LP ..
