Has anyone else set up remote powered cabinet doors? On my 3000L tank the top door is attached up to a powered arm controlled via a remote to open and close, much easier than holding whilst trying to feed or go in the top!

I’ll try and get a video soon but here’s a couple pics in the meantime

They were originally 1 for sea horses and 1 for a frog fish. But have had various displays in them

The arms are positioned as such that when they reach their max range (close or open), it holds the door open or shut in the correct position automatically.

That is completely ridiculous and over the top and I love it.
I do agree, but at the same time… you try holding open a door that big every-time you want to go in, 3m wide and about 32kg

I have a large paint stirrer that I use to prop my 5ft lid open with.

Does it work, Yes.
Is is simple, Yes.
Easily replaceable, yes.

Is it lame and have the need to be upgraded to something cooler?....Absolutely.

Do it! Not terribly expensive either if you can DIY
