Well, two days in a row the power at my house went out for about five hours. Luckily I have a generator to keep the tanks alive, but I didn't always have one. Do you have a backup generator or power supply for your tanks?

Genny which is great but I’ve recently been concerned about power outages in the summer. Other seasons I’m fine as gen will power heaters. But in summer, no way to cool tank. Thinking about a chiller. I’ m skeptical that fans would be able to cool down the tank enough if we got a series of 90+ days.

If you already have a generator I would think a a/c unit for the tank room is a better alternative then a chiller Window or free standing. Keep the tank cool and u too!

Eh, DT is in room which is big 24 x 20 with 17’ ceilings, lot of windows. Tank is 240 gallon too. House has central AC but gen obviously can’t power it. Also sump is in basement fish room which I could put an AC in but not sure that would be enough.

I just posted my UPS system in the sticky thread above today, if anyone's interested in a bigger backup system.

I may still break down and get a whole house but portable will run the whole tank (including chiller), frig, freezer, fans, TV, lights and small AC. Fortunately, in the past 10 years most of our hurricanes resulting in day+ power outages occurred late in the season when it was not terribly hot.
