Saw this in an lfs today. Under his actinic led it glowed translucent pink. The color was so amazing I couldn't help myself. Obviously its seen better days. But he had no idea what it was and said it had been recovering from neglect. Any ideas?

Could be... I can't tell. Doesn't seem to have the polyps although I can see spots and it is beat up. The texture is smooth like an acro though. Could be though.

I agree it looks like a highly stressed montipora Setosa

Oh yeah most definitely Setosa. You can probably save it, they are pretty hardy if water chemistry values are in line. You could possibly frag of the best piece.

It's that pale pink because the coral is stressed for whatever reason, too much light, too little lighting, less then ideal water chemistry. Setosa comes in different shades of red and pink but I imagine that piece will darken once you stabilize the coral.
