My middle school science teacher told me about his brother's clownfish hatchery company when I was in 7th grade. Figured out this company was Proaquatix which I didn't realize back then was that big of a deal until I got into reefing the last few months. I thought it would be cool to get some fish from them having that fun history, so I contacted them. Being just a customer, I could not order straight from them since I am not able to wholesale purchase. Mike, their chief customer service rep, gave me the most helpful and communicative experience I have ever received from anyone. He responded kindly and accordingly to emails. After trying to go through at least 5 LFS (local being within an hour and half drive because none would do it), I found a local guy that sells coral on R2R and has his own website (you should check him out! coralbeauties.com). Mike said he would be more than willing to set up an account with him to help me out, and he said they would send any store or seller who opens an account with them some free sample fish.

After about 4 weeks of trying to get some fish ordered from them, I have a beautiful pair of premium gladiator clowns and an extra bullet hole clown. There was an issue with our shipping and some of the fish didn't make it, and Proaquatix is going to send replacements for any and all fish that died or were stressed in shipping free of any charge or even shipping fee. Their customer service, to me, seems unmatched. Their fish are beautiful, and they are all bred in-house, which I think is a valiant pursuit to improve the ornamental fish trade and diminish the number of fish taken from the ocean.

From my experience with them, I think any and all LFSs should get their clowns through Proaquatix, and the other fish they offer (dottybacks, some gobies, some blennies, angelfish, and some large display fish). I would love to hear any other experiences had with them, and if you own any sort of online or local fish sale business, I would suggest to strongly consider opening an account with them. They are quality people with a high quality product!
