Hello all! Let me first start this off by saying, this is not a "dislike" thread. I love all my apex systems, not only have they made my life and reefing experience better, they saved a few deadly experiences that me and my family unfortunantly wouldve suffered from. I know the probes are new, so alot of members may not be able to relate to the current "potential" issues im having. Now, i set this probe up i believe the beginning of august. Right off the bat, the calibration made it seem like the probe was used and old. It would take forever for the changes to happen. On an old probe, instead of giving you a ph reading withen a few seconds, itll take about a minute for the reading to change just a tad bit. I never used a double junction before, so i figured this is normal. Keep in mind i have a second ph probe in my sump. My old probe works just fine, it just seems like my double junction is way way off, and takes too long to fall into an accurate range compared to my other probe. Also, i calibrate ALL my probes 5 times a year, all the neccessary precautions are done to get an accurate reading through the calibration process. Today, i take the probe out to calibrate, and its totally messed up. Before calibrating i used it in all different known solutions including ro water and it still is way way off. Even after calibrating its still in its same character. Before i post up a ticket, i would like to know if anyone is experiencing everything im going through.

Nothing yet, i havnt filed a ticket yet or seen anything on the probe yet. I have the "og" apex But i was due for a new ph probe considering it started to get slow when calibrating nd whatnot, so i figured id buy their new double junction lab they released with the new apex. I threw out the box and all but have the reciept so well see. As of right now i still have it hookedup, im not running any advanced settings on it other then some options just incase an alk overdose. Im just so bummed about it, the probe acts no different then a 5 year old ph probe that was laying in my shed for 3 years

the controller shouldn't be an issue, i talked to a neptune rep and they said it would be flawless integration. i'd file a ticket homie. they're not exactly cheap.

So i didnt even need to contact them, they reached out to me to address the potential issue. So awesome, filed a ticket and everything for me. Honestly if someone said they where having the same problem, i wouldve never put in a ticket, and just bought another one. Anyways thanks guys!

Get ready to pony up to get it fixed...you'll be paying for some kind of shipping. Then if they can't fix it or its your fault you'll be paying again :(

I overseen a few threads here and im sure people people had bad experiences but also there was always that update with "thank you" apex customer service. Not just them, but i never open claims for anything unless its a critical piece of equipment, other then that ill just go buy it so i dont have to deal with any hassle and keep the ball rolling. My experience with neptune apex was the complete opposite. Theres rarely a manufacturer that doesnt require you to pay for shipping. Especially if the product is heavy or weighs a ton. They found my thread, opened a claim, and resolved everything for me so i know im not on a high horse, there obviously snoopin around to help customers.

Yeah, I hear you just a probe...I wish Neptune would allow the stores to deal with the return not pass it on to the consumer to deal with shipping and hassle when a product is defective however.

Glad things got resolved!! I find most are quick to talk about bad experiences but not so much about good ones. Happy to see you post the positive as well!

I knew i wasnt crazy!!!! I thought i was going to get the probe, and it just act the same as the other, with the thought of me being paranoid . Maybe it was just a blimp with whoever manufactured the probe for them. Unfortunantly i should off took a video for everyone so you guys wouldnt think im crazy! But i got both probes, both cleaned, calibrated, every precaution is also executed to make sure they were both calibrated right and the same exact way. Started it all at a perfect time, right before my lights kicked on. To measure the probe function, everything timed even calibration. The new apex probe that they provided me, worked its way up to my peak lighting hours, while the other is far behind. Ill continue to monitor, anyways thanks guys!

Haha thanks buddy. Yea well people get frustrated but bad experiences will always happen. Its rarely anyones fault, but oneself for not being prepared for it especially with this hobby, it could result in big time loss. although its just a probe, im glad they helped me out the way they did.
