Is the only difference between the Mega and the Ultimate controllers, the touchscreen? And if so is it possible to use an ipad or an android device to serve the same purpose?

This will help me decide which one to get.

Yes, that is the only difference. I got the mega since I planned on using iPad and iPhone to control the P4 via the we app or the iOS app. Neither is fully operational yet. The web app only allows you to view data. No control yet, but promised soon. The iOS app for P4 has not been released yet. Again, promised soon. I actually use and in the future will use the PC app most of the time for control even after the mobile apps are released. I'll use those mostly when I travel.
