Quick background, had two giant crabs die in my refugium, didn't know for awhile, caused an algae and bryopsis outbreak due to lack of maintenance and the crabs. Cleaned the tank like crazy, and did a fluc treatment. Kept the skimmer off for 4 days, started it again and it's been weird ever since. The skimmer will be working like normal, then for a few hours or a day it will be bubbling water just a few inches high, then the next day it will be overflowing like crazy, then back down to almost nothing. I've never seen it do this in nearly 2 years. What's going on?

Have you done anything different with your house cleaning routine, or add any plug in oil scents? I noticed our skimmer would act up when I would use any type of aerosol spray for cleaning.
