like an idiot while I was cleaning my skimmer I dropped the collection cup. It broke of a small part of the black lip. There's not a small air pocket because of it. 1 is this even an issue? If so id like to attempt to repair it. What can I use to fill in the gap? Jb water weld?

Can we see a pic from a bit further back? It’s tough to tell what I’m looking at here!

Ah! That’s not an ideal spot for a chip, but it doesn’t seem to be leaking!

— I’d just leave it alone… unless it starts actually leaking from there, and you feel confident doing some solvent welding!

Super glue/etc isn’t the permanent answer here, a drop or three of extremely thin welding solvent (like Weldon 4) will wick into that crack, and chemically melt it back into a solid piece of acrylic!

To be honest I dont think it will ever leak. The suction is too tight plus there is still the o ring. My concern was that air pocket. Just wondering if it will affecting the skimming function. I know it's minor but im so picky and I hate I messed up lol. So wledon 4 might be what fills in that gap?

Ah! I think I see what’s going on now… weldon 4 can’t fill gaps, it’s intended to join acrylic pieces together!

If it’s just a thin air gap between clear, and black acrylic, Weldon may close it up by melting the two acrylic pieces back together…

If a chip physically fell off, your best-bet would be welding it back in place, assuming you’ve still got it!

I think I found a small piece but tbh I didnt find any others. Lol man at this point it's like do I pay $90 for a new cup and be $260 in when a new unit would of been $340. I guess overall I still would save $120. Or do I not even be picky and just leave it as is.

Good as new! Would of looked dang near noticeable if the water weld was black. No kroe air pocket though.
