Hydro looks like it is a recirculating skimmer, if that is correct and you have a way to feed it I would choose it over the eshopps.

I have the Hydor skimmer I loaned it to my friend I have too many skimmers and he needed one, it is a very reliable skimmer. External skimmers are great skimmers. How much are they asking for the skimmer?

I had the 705 model, 6" diameter. I think that one is size correctly for your tank, I think the 405 will work but might be undersized.

Have you bought the skimmer yet?
What is your max budget?

A couple of choices for you
Aquariumsource.com is selling a Reef Dynamics INS135 for 250 isch, this a proven skimmer that will rock a 90 gallon tank to 125 gallons.

Sorry link did not work just google it.
This skimmer works really well as well, newer technology DC pump very quiet. I almost bought one for my 120 gallon tank but I could not make it back to the show and get it. Simplicity 240

Reef Octopus This skimmer as well look at the reviews

Lots more look at these three and see what you think.

You could probably get away with a undersized skimmer since you will have so much mechanical and natural filtration.
