I’ve had this psammacora frag in my tank for a month or so and it’s my first psamamcora. It’s growing, but unlike my leptoseris, chalice, Favites, etc. the growth seems almost transparent. You can see all the new growth along the cut plug edge.
Is that normal for psammacora? It looks like a few spots on the new growth are darkening but not all. Is this similar to the bare white growth on other SPS that eventually color up and grow polyps?
The rest of the frag has held its color so I don’t think it’s a lighting issue…..which leads me to my above guess, that it’s how it grows in “stages”.
