im upgrading to a 55 gallon tank. my wife wants to get a puffer. would a puffer be a good fit in a smaller tank? there is 60 lbs of live rock, ill be moving my 6 line wrasse, 3 skunk shrimp, emerald crab and 30 or so snails in the tank in about a month. there will be alot of softies moving as well. thanks for any advise you can give!

Stick with species in the genus Canthigaster, others will grow too large and eat your shrimp.

Try a smaller puffer like valentini puffer.
Remember that they need to sharpen thier beak on coral or shells.
