Pulling a all nighter powers out

Well iv been up all night checking on my tank and stiring it by hand trying to keep it a live and watching the temp making sure it don't get to low having all kinds of fun here in Chattanooga Tennessee. Lol they thought we might get 1-3 inches of snow iv got 8 inches of snow here at my house and now the powers out. :-(

Yep its been a fun night lol not the first time tho. Iv managed to kelp the temp in the tank at 76 if it drops below that I will have to run a power cord out to my truck and use a power converter to run the heater.

It's almost a year ago to the day that I lost almost everything in my 300 gal.
20 fish and a ton of corals.

Only survivors were a potters wrasse and a lobo colony

The tank is now a fowlr.

That's very frustrating. I was sweating it myself. They predicted 1" here in Sumiton, AL, but I have 5". Luckily, I never lost power. I hope yours is restored soon!

Have you contacted the power company?

Does your stove run on gas? You should be able to heat up some water and float it in bags to heat the tank.

This. Wrapping the tank in thermal blanket helps also.

I feel for u guys dealing with having no power for long periods of time.
I live in south florida and my my block lost power last night for a hour which made me realize how unprepared I am if I were to lose power for a extended amount time .

Nope I don't have gas. Iv got a power converter in my truck and I'm running a small heater and one pump in tank. Still no power iv gathered my family in the living room were the tank is and put blankets over all the windows and doors and were camping out. Lol power went out at 3am and its now 9pm. All my fish are still swimming around and some of the corals are open so I'm hopeing everthing will make it

It always helps to have a battery backup bubbler just to keep the water stirred. Hindsight is 20/20 though. I have yet to deal with the power out on my 150, but I recently hooked an MP-40 onto a battery backup for that sole reason. Just wish I wasn't in an apartment, or else I'd have a generator.

If your fish are swimming and polyp are out, it sounds like you're doing a good job, just keep the water moving and the tank at a stable temp, keep it up!

I mixed up some DIY cal about 2 cups to 2 cups of water and I'm floating that to try and help with the temp its staying at 73-74 right now

Well the power had been flashing on and off for the last hour so I'm Hopeing they will have it back on soon my tank is cold fish are still alive ph has droped down to 7.8 temp is 72.8 and all my soft coral are swelled up 3 times their size and I think iv lost some zoas this sucks lol

I am so sorry you're going through this. Hopefully, power is back on for you now. I always cringe the longer it goes. Sounds like your inhabitants will recover.
