Pulsing Xenia budding?

Howdy folks, I was wondering if xenia do the mushroom kinda thing where they detach and spread to virgin grounds!

I do know some aquarists consider them weeds but i love my xenia and if this is a sign they healthy that’d be pretty cool

Yes, typically it will spread/cover the rock it is on, then it will start to detach pieces and let them float around and anchor where they will again spread and takeover the new rock or glass or whatever they land on. They are a cool coral to watch, but not worth the trouble in my opinion.

They’re super cool to watch! I guess ill be on the look out for them now! The piece i found was inside my scoly’s mouth so I guess i gotta watch for those little buds… maybe i can trade them for credit at my LFS
