Pump causing tin?

Hey everyone so just trying to understand where the tin and aluminum is coming from. here is the icp tests for thesaltwater mixing barrell and display tank. it has a 7 stage rodi unit and is pvc will post pic of setup then in the middle it has a industrial pump which mixes the water around in the second barrell. which has flex hose going to the hose which i use to fill up rodi and for water changes. I use tropic marin for salt btw. what could be causing this? also have a sediment filter running in the saltwater barrel when mixing.

Tin is often used as a heat stabilizer in plastics such as PVC. Some folks have tracked their source to flexible tubing.

Aluminum often comes from white media such as phosguard.

What could be the cause should i be changing the pvc? or the pump? obviously there is nothing being used in the mixing barrel other than salt.

Tracking down the source can be difficult in a system with lots of plastics.

Are you sure the mixing barrel and display data sets are not reversed above? The mixing barrel has substantial phosphate while the display does not.

Yes sorry the one with no phosphate is the mixing barrel it has 3 tin while the display is sitting at 30

Could be many types of plastic, which does include pvc since it is specifically sold for pvc additions. But I think most folks making the connection in their systems thought it was a flexible tubing material.

Were the source the mixing containers then wouldn’t it be simpler to install a metal absorber such as CupriSorb between it and the display vs trying to Sherlock Holmes the pieces and the expense and time to replace it since the replacement might have the same issue. Kind of accept this is a known issue and resolve it post source.

Assuming it’s not the pump although makes sense just to have that in place for redundancy.

Display can be treated separately for accumulation from past WC.
