Hello fellow reefers,

Just placed an order online which includes a 100ml bag of purigen. Not used purigen before so would adding the full bag be overkill in my 13.5g, or would it be better to split the bag into smaller amounts?

Thanks in advance

Dom

this is my opinion based on my experience with this product
Purigen is a product I have used often in cannister filters over a number of years and I do not believe there is any negative effects from using more than suggested (which is a recommended minimum rather than suggested maximum) thus I would use the full bag and it will just last longer between need for regenerating.

I use the same bag in the same tank. I have run it for 3 months with no issues along with Chemi Pure Elite via the InTank rack.

Puigen is a great product but unless you have an issue with TDS in your water or phosphates in general, stick your money into a good grade carbon and mix in a Little purigen.

Have an outbreak of gha at the moment, salifert tests are reading nitrate at 0 and phosphate at 0.04. Already using Red Sea reef carbon and RowaPhos but thought adding purigen might help.
