Went to my LFS today and they had a sale on mystery frags all for $20, they ask what your favorite color is and they pick off of that so they gave me this. Was wondering how much this is worth to y’all? Has about 25-30 polyps

Good lucky with Palys... make sure you read on them.
Whenever i see a Paly, it freaks me out, because i know too many people that have gotten sick because of them.

I have palys and zoas all over my tank with no issues. I use them as fillers on the rocks in between my corals and they cover the back wall too. $20 seems like a good buy to me.

$20 for a frag with 10+ healthy heads is a good deal if you like the color, regardless of the branding.

FWIW below is a shot of my purple death palys for comparison. They were sold as blue death but changed colors in my tank. (You can see one in the middle trying to be blue, and honestly I'm ok with blue or purple....)

So many of these things with named varieties change based on tank parameters, lighting, sunspots, and how they feel. To me purple/blue death are the same thing just in different conditions.

A key identifier on the 'death' palys that I see is the really thin lashes and trumpet shape.

Please post back in 6 months and show us how the ones you purchased grow out. I think they will look very nice.

Nice, I have those at the top too.

Exactly my thought.
I used to be concerned with the whole lineage thing, but then decided what I liked mattered more to me.
At my lfs a decent sized "frag" like that would probably run $40-$50. I think you got a good deal.
