Purple Dragon???

The color faded a bit from higher light, now it's mounted to a small base and on the sand. Could this be the same species as the Red Dragon acro? It showed up at an LFS with a big shipment, and my friend scooped it up while I was still admiring it. Now he broke down his tank and I am the proud owner!

Yes, I have never seen it before. It has kind of flat branches, with long tubular coralites that are somewhat fused to the branch making them look like webbed fingers or something.

does kind of look like elegans, you are right. the structure is very unique and isn't common looking at all, but i don't really know about looking like the red dragon. i'm absolutely not putting down your piece one bit, its jus the red dragon is really a one of a kind.

No Mark, I'm pretty sure it's an A. dragon, they are very rare.

I agree. It looks like an elegans or simplex too.

Thanks guys, I'll have to do a search on elegans. I don't care if it's the dragon or not, that was just the only thing I'd seen with a remotely weblike structure, or so I thought. I'm not all that familiar with that piece either.
I'll let you know how she does over the course of some time.
