Unless the tank is very large, no. Within a couple of months one will 'disappear mysteriously.' There are always exceptions, but they are rare.
 
I had two in a 180 and the longer established one is the only one that remains. They lived on opposite sides but the purple "disappeared".
 
Would a 250gal tank be big enough? And thank you for your reply
Most likely not, though there may be exceptions, but they are quite intolerant of congenerics, though very little noticeable aggression will be observed. I have only ever seen multiples last over a year together in a 10' tank.
 
wow! okay, So what you are saying is that it is a bad idea??? lol I am kidding. WIll not do that then. Thank you for all the input everyone
