I just picked up a really nice chunk of this coral, lots of branches - 1.5" or so. I know this coral is a bit harder to keep colored up than most other acropora.

What kind of flow should I have it in? Should the polyps be dancing around constantly, every couple second, or just slightly noticeable movement/twitches?

As far lighting, what PAR range am I looking at to get this guy colored up nicely? I'll be keeping it under T5's.

They are kinda a slow grower, but keep up high un a good flow area. It took about a year and mine finally took off. 4"x4" from a 3/4 plug

Salty what was your set up? I think he's looking for something specific as guidelines for this corals. Is flow or lighting more important for these guys to grow well?

High light and pretty high flow for best color.... Agreed it takes a good amount of time almost a year before mine budged but once it took off it started growing extremely well.... Gl..;)

I just got a frag of purple monster too, do any of you have pics of yours? Love to see them.
I keep most my acros in high flow and high light.

I will definitely get a picture posted soon, awesome looking coral...the while polyps are stunning.

Up high directly under light, moderate to high flow, cant determine exaclty on the flow, that depends on your tank, Low nuterients , good water qaulity, stabilty, feeding
