I just picked up a purple stylophora-tank is softie/lps dominant-have 1 encrusting monti that has taken over a rock


Picked up a purple styliphora-

Light are radion xr 15 g5-whwn i checked par a while ago-par level was 180-225 in various areas whee i want to place

There is an mp40 that is pushung flow near whwte i want to place t

Stick it and run and see if it takes-or any feedback

They are not the same, so don't expect similar results. My purple stylo is almost dead, the green one 2inches away is alive. Explain that.

I have found purple milka stylo to be pretty tolerant of par levels. Anything 150 and up should be fine. Like most sps they enjoy flow as long as not directly blasted at close range. Mine has reached weed levels and has to be pruned often to prevent it from taking over.

I think you are good with your approach.

They are not the same, so don't expect similar results. My purple stylo is almost dead, the green one 2inches away is alive. Explain that.

Needs more flow, it's protected by the rock when the green one is not.

Heh, i make a post wondering why one lives and the other dies...
And it doesnt matter cause now they are both dead. Oh well, no more stylo/pocci/birdsnest for my reef...
