Purple tang sudden death

Found my prized purple dead this morning
Looked fine with no visible problems even when gone. Nothing different with tank
Had some different food out, thinking it could've gotten a large piece and choked or something may have attacked in its sleep

Caudal fin looks a little red and tatty... was there anything there maybe?

Sorry, was more of a question as to whether that was there prior to death, or whether it happened post mortem?

Could be a bacterial infection, equally could be damage from cuc after death.

Totally befuddling when that happens, lost a mystery wrasse two weeks ago fine one day eating, then the next lying on the bottom no signs of any kind on him and all other fish fine
