Hey guys I've been MIA for a little bit but now I'm back! Since then a few things have changed, improvements and departure of my previous systems.

As some of you have seen before, my 56G Reef Savvy build was nice but being OCD all of the mismatched and add on items got to me. You can check it out in the link below:

https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/reef-diaries-56g-reef-savvy.146831/

Last few images of the completed system before the full refit:

The itch came about when or rather I knew I had space for "just one more" tank. In addition to the 56G Reef Savvy tank, I wanted to add another 36x48x14 tank in the garage. With that in mind, more plumbing, sumps, etc as the previous system was all connected together for easy of maintaining the systems.

Plans and thoughts on the new system. My main goal was for one was to make more room for corals and to utilize every aspect of the system. From power consumption and efficiency to multiple systems that work together.

Display Tanks: 24x48x15, 36x48x14, 24x48x13 (All made by TankMe)
Sumps: 18x42x18, 31x47x16, x 18x36x18 (Me & @Mrx built them together)
Stands: 24x48x35, 36x48x36, 24x48x37 (Built by DougB Welding)
Return Pump: Jebao DCT15000
Skimmer: Bubble King Double Cone 250 +RD3
Lighting: Assortment, mainly T5/LED to MH/T5/LED combinations
Flow: Ecotech Vortech MP10s, MP40s, and a few Jebao Pumps
Controller: Neptune System Apex, DOS, AFS, lots of modules and power bars. Thanks @Terence
Misc: @SantaMonica Surf2 Algae Scrubber, Tunze ATO, BRS Doser,

It became official once the order was placed by a local tank builders and of course I had my local aluminum welder build the stand. Both are great people to work with and time again they have came through when the work was needed to be completed. Thanks to @Mrx, TankMe, & DougB Welding to name a few for the initial building of the system.

More to come, make sure you subscribe as I continue the journey.

Wow...more tank? Are you sure you can fit more in that garage of yours? Following along for sure! Do you ever sell frags or do you just collect and have back ups of back ups?

Stand is done! Few images from Doug, our local fish tank welder. He's been doing a lot of good work for the local FMAS club and their support for the HS. Kudos to Doug, Hernando and the FMAS club for doing great stuff.

Building the sumps at @Mrx's place. Awesome local acrylic guru that I always use for my acrylic work.

So skimmer selection was a no brainier considering the new propagation system was going to be much larger in water volume. My Bubble King Double Cone 250 was taken off line on the 210G build in favor for a smaller one, the younger brother BK DC 200. Of course the new system got the 250, with 375g of water volume it should work out nicely. I do plan on adding a number of fish to each tank, in total there will be 5 and a central sump.

This happened recently:

Florida Frag Swap is done, back to normal life! Although I'm still cleaning up from that, I've got a few updates.

Took delivery of the two remaining tanks.

Decided to start making some holes where I could. This is on the secondary tanks connecting to the central sump.

Back to reality, finally got around to cutting the tile I'll be using for the system! A lot of work for 6 tanks but I like it.

Still a clutter but it's getting there.

Next up, acid washing the tiles!

I'm going to take a guess and say, judging by the color it may be a substitute for using a sand bottom.

I don't know if I miss something but could someone please explain the purpose of the tile in the tanks

I'm going to take a guess and say, judging by the color it may be a substitute for using a sand bottom.

Very close @austinl, it is used in place of sand. More surface area for bacteria rather then bare bottom. Another plus is if corals grow on it, I can frag them later... or not. Its a pain to remove the tile once rocks and racks are on top of it.

Did an acid wash or two since it was so many pieces of tile.

A little bit of mocking up on bulkheads and supply water to each tank.
