Putting legs on my stand.

I have the typical Aqueon aquarium stand. It's the plywood version. Other than the paint it is in great shape and very sturdy. The paint isn't even that bad. It's footprint is 36 x 24 for a 90 gallon. We all know there will be spills and I want to be able to get under it to wipe up any water and my wife demands this. A new stand just isn't in the budget if I want to buy some top of the line equipment.

I am going to put legs on it. It will be resting on a tiled concrete floor. These are the ones I want to use:

My questions are: Has anyone tried this before? I am most likely going to go through with this and is there anyone with any reasons that can change my mind because they know something I don't? Does anyone think I would need to add internal structure to the stand?

I will glue them and use extra screws to hold them in place. Coming loose won't be a problem. Leveling won't be a problem. The floor is new and it's spot on level so shimming will be minimal. We knew the tank would be sitting there and took extra caution to insure level and flatness. The stand is level just sitting there with no weight or tank on it. No wobble. The legs will be strategically placed to support all aspects of the plywood corners and the center of the stand.

All opinions are appreciated. Good and bad.

... just check level with tank on it.. and if possible check level with it filled with tap.. or salt before stocking.

Place the legs where the vertical supports are. Make sure you level the stand.

I would be afraid of those splitting and dropping the tank. I’m Researching the same issue now. My plan is to use 1/2” Aluminum squares, available on Amazon, to get the tank up, and off a tile floor. Some terry cloth sleeves, over a yardstick, for wiping under the tank. Also I’m looking at 1/2“ 70 Shore D Durometer Rubber. Take in consideration your overall final height for cleaning and maintenance.

I just re-read this.. .. my wife understands what stays under the stand.. is...

what it is.. after doing doing a couple tank moves.. you will always find something... best keep it flat to hide the evidence and mop around it :)... my 2 cents :)
