Hi All,

I just added a Copperband Butterfly to my tank and made a feeding tube from pvc. Do you think the ink pictured below will have any harm on the tank? I’ll only have this in there for 5 mins daily. Any other suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks,

Nate

Gut feeling—let’s see what more knowledgeable people say—but that amount of ink seems too minuscule to worry about. Nowadays, might even be a ‘plant’ based or other harmless substance, rather than a true ink (who knows). Again, Just my initial thoughts.

I wouldn’t worry about that at all. Such a small amount sometimes we as reefers tend to over think things. Being cautious is great just don’t let it make reefing a stress maker instead of a stress reliever.

I wouldn't overthink it, I leave it be in my own tanks. If you are really concerned, stop by a hardware store get some solvent and rub it of with a rag.

Thank you all for the replies! I tried it out and he ignored it anyways but will keep trying.
