I am planning on plumbing my IM 75 ext like this with PVC and tubing. However I want to add some media reactors to my return line. Can I just put tees in the vinyl tubing or should I change to using PVC for the return?

If you’re already plumbing it with PVC I’d just go that route.
I was reading that vinyl tubing is better for flow since there aren't any 90 degree turns. That's why I had decided on vinyl tubing.

I'm also debating on whether I should just plumb as planned and use another pump for the media reactors. Just not sure if one way is better than the others.

Barb fittings have a small ID and will restrict flow. Unless you are going to use a bunch of pvc fittings I doubt you would see a flow increase with vinyl

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
