PVC Threaded Plumbing... Use Plumbers tape?

The recommendations are fine but some will base their decision on experience and success. Doesn't make it wrong ......

Again, the PVC manufacturers universally recommend not using teflon tape for a reason. They don't make the tape, sticks or paste so its not because they get a cut of the profits.

Just use some Silicone. Its easy to remove if needed and cleans up easy.

Experience and success doesn't make it right, either.
I used to use teflon tape and never had a problem.
That doesn't mean I was correct or couldn't improve.
This is why we are here. :)
