Pygmy waspfish info

I did find one - I just got lucky and the lfs got a few in. Definitely worth it if you come across one as they are quite rare. Definitely best suited for a nano so you can easily monitor its feeding, mine was always active after dark and in later hours even when the lights were on. I haven’t seen it in a bit, so I think it may have eventually died - no real way of knowing unless it pops up again.

I'm not sure if the one I found is a Red Rooster Pygmy Waspfish or not, I was told by @vetteguy53081 it's a different species. Here's a pic...

That is a P. zonatus, aka pygmy red rooster waspfish. Did you read through my threads, there are many pics you can compare to.

I have a couple of them, one for about a year so far. I don't have to give them any extra care and they eat what all my fish eat. LRS food, clams and live worms. Mine stay in the front and don't hide much.
I never had to target feed mine.

I have 3, they do not come around that often, I found them kinda by fluke after looking for about a year. Ask your lfs if any of their suppliers have them, I don't know of any suppliers online that ever offer them except for dd. They are cryptic and not that active; my white face girl is very entertaining but the other 2 are pretty boring. I have seen bonded pairs on divers den and your tank would be fine for one or a pair.

They haven't posted in a while, but they mentioned it in another thread:

The elongated spines at the front of the dorsal fin denotes a male, on the female they are stubby.

This is one fish I'd like to try. I was reading they are aggressive. I love little gobies and blennies, afraid they might be a snack for the little dragon looking fish?

The one I got supposedly ate a baby yellow watchman (less than an inch). I would be cautious around eviota gobies, clown gobies, or neon gobies, but most else should be good.
