I have three tanks plumbed together and before I plumbed in the two most recent ones I noticed I had pyramid snails on the 2-3 Astraea snails I have in the first tank. I haven't seen them on any other inverts in the two new tanks and every 1-2 days I am taking out the snails from the original tank and brushing off the visible pyramid snails.

I have been checking the astraea snails in the other two tanks and haven't seen any pyramid snails on them and I am curious if they will eventually make it to the other two tanks?

The two new tanks are an 80 and 60 gallon tank connected with bulkheads that lead into the sump that has a roller mat. The original tank is a 35 cube that is fed by a pump in the 80 gallon's reef ready section that pumps tank water into it that has the pyramid snails issue. The 35 cube has it's own ghost overflow that empties into the same rollermat in the sump that the 60 and 80 go to.

I am not sure if that setup/plumbing has been why I haven't seen them in the 80 and 60 tanks but was looking for input/advice about the chance the pyramid snails will get into the 80 and 60 tanks?

I plan to try and eradicate them in the 35 cube by adding a six line wrasse that will eat a few of them even thought they're out at night and sixline would be out during daytime, but based on the design and vision of the 80 and 60, a six line won't work but a melanurus might but it would be one of the last additions and I have around 10-15 fish to add to the 80 and 60 before it will be fully stocked.

So do you think the rollermat and plumbing setup I have will keep the pyramid snails out of the 80 and 60 tanks or is it just a matter of time before they end up in there?
