Pyramid snails?

Please do send them. My logic is saying Pyram by their behavior, but when I enlarge it I swear I can almost see the Rissoid markings.

Solution...melanarus wrasse

I'm still stocking... 2 years in [emoji23] all I currently have is a flame Hawkfish and sleeper goby. I have 3 blue star leopard wrasses in quarantine that will be added next. I'm a bit concerned about adding any other wrasses.

Ahh so you are one that ordered the three in ...i got my one female in must been days before yours and mine is doing well also...but yeah the melanarus was one in my tank that had gotten to big for his own good started pickin on others but i tell you what he wouldconstantly forage for things like the pyramid snails

That'd be me! Glad to hear yours is doing well :)
I've had a Melanarus before I changed tanks. Great for foraging but man was he a bully!

I have them. They are so small! I'll let you know what I see.

Sooooooo..... how are you?....... how was your day?..... Did you have a good supper?

Yes, I'm stalling......

Can we only upload one per post?

Another shot of the fold.

This is what I was originally mistaking for the rissoid pattern.

Pattern with a bit of light.

I've been pulling these things out and killing them. I thought they could only be pyramid snails :/

I will have to take a closer look at one when I get my next chance. I have never seen one on any of my snails.

If you saw only one on a snail, I wouldn't assume they were pyrams right away. Snail shells are great little pastures for herbivores to graze.

But evidently I was wrong with that suggestion in this case..... so there's that O.O

Assuming you're talking to me, I've seen three or four in the tank. I know there are two more I need to take a closer look as since I failed to remove them during the last attempt. One was large enough that I might be able to make a positive determination.

But I was looking right at your avatar as I was typing! LOL! I need to start quoting......

It would be cool to hear if you could tell or not.
Now that you guys have educated me, I'll try to take a closer look the next time these suckers show their faces :)

As disappointing as the result is, I completely expected it, and the images are very cool! The shell pattern is fairly deceptive. It looks like crossed ridges in person and even under the microscope doesn't definitively looked like perfect ribs as I was expecting. There is no mistaking the apex and fold though! Very interesting. I guess now I begin the process of removing all I can.
Thank you so much for looking at them!

This photo by Eddie Hardy, shows you can't even trust the checker board pattern.
